The Myrovlytis Trust was founded in 2007. Our mission is to drive research, provide support and improve outcomes for patients and their families affected by rare conditions.  Our initial focus is on the rare, genetic condition Birt Hogg-Dubé syndrome which we manage through the BHD Foundation, and the rare cancer osteosarcoma, which we manage through Osteosarcoma Now.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the team as our Senior Research Officer. The purpose of this role is to maintain, manage and develop the charity’s research portfolio, including co-ordinating processes to support ongoing and new research ventures and ensuring that research work and findings are shared with the community to empower them.

You’ll use your scientific knowledge to understand the science behind projects and communication skills to build strong working relationships with the researchers. With your research or science-communications experience you’ll develop a detailed understanding of the outputs, outcomes and impact arising from the research we fund. You will understand what’s happening in the field and support our research community to accelerate their pathway to impact. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive.

If you are looking to further develop your career in the medical/research sector, have strong administrative skills, a keen eye for detail, and a flair for writing with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to the public, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

You will be entitled 25 days annual leave, bank holidays and additional days leave for a special anniversary (pro rata for part time staff), Employee Assistance Programme and Pension.
